RFA's
- Noah Gregor (1,000,000 - 1 year) Prove it deal, Sharks love giving these out, could see big upgrade in production and work his way to a nice payday the year after next
- Mario Ferraro (3,500,000 - 5 years) Great deal, top 4 d-man for years to come.
- John Dahlen (1,000,000 - 1 year) Prove it deal, could go well, could be out of the lineup halfway through the season also trade bait...
- Kaapo Kahkonen (2,200,000 - 2 years) Similar to hill and Reimer deals, not quite a proven goalie yet, no need for long term.
- Alex Chemlevski (925,000 - 2 years)
- John Leonard (750,000 - 1 year)
- Nick Meloche (925,000 - 2 years) Little more than Megna, due to more games and being younger.
- Brinson Pasichnuk (750,000 - 1 year)
- Jonah Gadjovich (800,000 - 2 years)
UFA's
- Chris Tierney (2,450,000 - 3 years) Familiar with the team and guys, would like to see him back in San Jose, hard-working bottom 6 forward, a good leader for the young team coming up. Definitely see this happening.
- Mike Stone (900,000 - 1 year) veteran right-shot D helps depth.
Trades
- Dahlen to Vancouver - Dahlen has chemistry with the young guys on that team, there is no real spot for him on the sharks next year, even this year at times was demoted to the 4th line and even scratched. younger and more promising prospects coming up. Pick up mid-round picks in exchange.
- Simek to Kraken - Cap dump, no spot on the roster anymore.
- Crouse for Hill - A trade that sees hill going back to AZ (they are in big need of goalies), as well as Neito and draft pick sweetener. Crouse, comes to San Jose for a fresh start where he very well could breakout.
Buyout
- Vlasic. Change is needed and younger players have become more deserving of a spot on the roster.
Tierney is a huge mistake especially at that price. Gregor in the top six is also not going to work as we need goals. No way Vancouver takes Dahlen back - he was traded because there was a riff between himself and the Canucks org. Spending over 5 mil on bottom six pieces when our bottom six was already fine. That money needs to go to a top six RW like Perron. I'd skip the season if this were the opening night lineup.

First off The bottom six was brutal last year... Tierney is a very reliable depth piece who a lot of the guys on the team are still really close with. For Dahlen it's mostly anywhere that would take him and I believe Van would be a good fit due to the chem between him and Petey as well as fellow swede OEL & the Vancouver organization is way different than what it was when he was there. As well Gregor is going to break out, he was our best player a lot of nights last year, as soon as he finds his scoring touch he will be a very good player. Getting Lebanc back, Eklund stepping in and the young guys getting better as well as a new coach "hopefully" the scoring will improve

If Tierney was the Tierney as we knew him here in SJ, or even the first part of his stint in OTT, I'd be all for it. Unfortunately, and I'm genuinely upset at this, Tierney was absolutely horrendous this year. For the people who've payed attention to his play, it's obvious that he's pretty close to finished. His skating was always average but it's just not at all there anymore to keep up with the NHL game. OTT fans who watched him more closely, and who I respect since they're good hockey fans and not homers, surprised me greatly but were dead serious when they told me that they'd be surprised if he even gets a deal anywhere next year, that a tryout is the most likely option. I hope I'm wrong, they're wrong too, but I don't see a fit in SJ despite the fact that he's indeed as you said still close to many guys on the team.
You never know, it's not like he'd be returning to the previous regime that he supposedly had issues with, but VAN certainly doesn't move that much draft capital to bring him back. I wonder if the Sharks are even going to tender him before free agency
