Tom Wilson would be a good fit for the leafs.

Easy no for the Caps. They're not rebuilding, and Wilson's not available regardless.

More of the unpractical 20 man roster and suddenly Mrzarek, Kerfoot and Holl just disappear.

Intriguing….but I’d think TOR adds.

We know Nylander’s peak at this point, whereas I can only imagine Laine’s once he’s on Matthews’ wing. Nylander’s production is likely to go down when he’s not getting passes from Matthews/Tavares; but, at sub-$7M, it’s hard to be too upset for three years.

Nylander is UFA in three years. TOR gets to secure Laine for five here, though it’s going to be more, and no chance it is for $7M. Even now the word is $8M-$9M, and that is when he was a PPG player for a mediocre CBJ team. TOR gives him every chance to eclipse even his WPG production.

Toronto massively wins this deal situation wise so no.
That deal for Wilson is only fair if Vanacek is not included, and unless the Caps are completely blowing it up they shouldn't move Wilson
