Realistic Off-season for Chuck Wishful Thinking

Created by: FighterFoos23
Team: 2022-23 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: May 17, 2022
Published: May 17, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Flyers hire Trotz (Please for the love of GOD let it happen)

Draft Simon Nemec 5th OA, he doesn't start in the NHL. Still needs to develop a bit.

Ronnie Attard starts the season in the AHL. He needs seasoning.

IF Wade Allison can stay healthy, he most likely will be 4th line winger.

I don't think we'd need a first and zamula to dump JVR's deal, but the rest of the moves are solid

The trade for Scheifele as you have it won't work for the Jets. It would need to be Philly's first from this year or from 23 unprotected.

Frost and St. Ivany aren't good enough to allow the first to be a later one a year from now.

Jets Decline
No interest in the pick or lesser players
Try Konecny + ‘22 5OA for Scheifele

Lmao it’s a massive overpay to the point Chuck would probably be attacked before leaving town

Not adding a 1st, but would add a prospect.
Scheifele is an offensive 70+ point, 1C, on a great contract for 2 more yrs

Los Angeles won't include either of our two NHL-qualified LDs (Mikey Anderson or Tobias Bjornfot) in any trade for Chychrun, because the object of the exercise is to ADD at LD, not upgrade there.

Not adding a 1st, but will add a prospect

TK and 5 OA would mean that prospect better be someone like Perfetti lol

Sounds good. Find your PPG 1C on a great deal elsewhere then. The Jets aren't taking a decent winger, a late first a year from now, a meh bottom 6 player and a meh prospect.

There world need to be somevalue and incentive for Winnipeg.

No.. not likely.
Let’s not let biased fans on the internet define the value of a hugely valuable player… maybe try listening to the insiders who say he’ll return a huge haul, or the GMs who value his style of play and productivity.
Scheifele alone is worth Konecny and the 5OA… technically PHI should add, but due to the rumoured locker room issues, we’ll delete the additional piece from PHI and include Stanley from WPG… but that’s all.

That’s cool, TKs production, like all Flyers, went up after AV got fired. Dude was a cancer to the locker room. After AV got canned he was producing a .778 ppg with massive injuries to his line mates and playing mainly with a 3 and 4 C for those games.
He will be back to being .888 next year with coots. Definitely not worth moving all that for a C whose production rate is .112 higher lol

Yeah, I listen to insiders, don’t worry, mark will fetch a great return… being a locker room cancer may hurt a bit but he will… TK would also fetch a high return, not undervaluing Mark, just saying that TK showed he is back this year once Av was flushed for being a terrible coach.

I’d say both are probably worth a first, prospect and lesser roster player… Mark has a bit more value than TK, but in a package like this I’d say Mark lands you a 10 OA while TK lands you 15 OA

Mark was a 7OA, you could literally draft a dude who people say will be on par with Barzal, or one of the extremely well rounded RHD which are nearly impossible to come by nowadays

It's just too much risk for Winnipeg to take. The Jets have to hope the pick turns out to be a fairly good player, or they lose the trade by a landslide.

They would have traded 2 years of a career 74 point upper end 1C, that has been PPG or better for the past six straight seasons for 3 years of an average 52 point winger with a career high of 61 points. Then factoring in that centers are far more valuable than wingers, especially 1C's. It's just not worth the gamble. You're asking Winnipeg to take all the risk while Philly takes none.

I can see that, I wouldn’t say Philly takes no risk… they absolutely blow and are strapped to the cap, so losing a top 5 pick will make it hard to rebuild lol. But overall that makes sense, I’m just not sure Philly and the Jets would be a good fit for this deal

JVR isnt bringing in any sort of return with that contract. Even with salary retention.

You don’t think a team like, let’s say Florida who will be losing a few pieces this off-season; would want a 25 goal scorer 2-way winger at 1.75 mill? Yeah, a smart GM will be able to get a return for him, and even if not, giving up a first is overkill
