If Boston Had to Blow it Up

Created by: Gibby0269
Team: 2022-23 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: May 22, 2022
Published: May 22, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Let me start off by saying this is for fun don't take anything seriously This is just in the scenario Bergeron retires and pasta doesn't want to resign.

I want to hear what people would actually pay for the following players as well

In The Draft i would take Logan Cooley and with the LA pick i would try and get another Forwards Nazar, Mesar, Kasper Gautier, Beck) with the next couple picks i would go for best available no matter the position i would try and target Lindgrin and Lund if possible in the 2nd and 3rd

The team below still gives us a half decent roster and we still have Smith and hall we could move for a nice return at the deadline

Pens fan here. Scenario time:

Bergy retires. Pasta wants out. Marchand wants out. Marchy requests a trade. Sid and Marchy team up. Pens first line of Jake - Sid - Marchy lights up the league. **** that would be a dream for me.

Good idea but I don't think you have the assets to get him

Honestly I think the devils would consider. Especially and mostly if that came with an extension and probably 8.5 to 9 million for 8 years. Really would be tough to pass up those assets but I think that would be a long thought out decision

Woo this team is going to be bad, good shot at getting bedard though. I don't think you values are far off either. Don't know if Detroit would give that up but the value is right.

ya I think its a very realistic return you may see us add a 4th round pick and new Jersey add a 3rd or 4th so ita not 3 players for one

it doesn't have to be Detroit I figured they could definitely use Griz as a second pairing defender

With a top 6 of Hughes, pastrnak, Mercer, hischer, bratt and whoever else earns the spot. This team would be nuts. LD would still be good, Graves and seigenthaler hold it down until bahl and Hughes are ready. Only question mark is goaltending but would probably have another year to figure that out.

No I totally agree, they could use him right now for sure, just tough for a team that rebuilding to give up a second round pick. But like I said I think your value is right on.

If they get Pasta they can't get Hellebuyck maybe they go for Fleury or maybe Rantaa

This upcoming year will be what LA had last year plus Detroit has cap space for Free agents this year

I think they would have to run with what they got and see what Daws is made of, then of that doesn't work make a big move for one. They still have valuable assets in Foote and Clarke and a few others.

I just don't see them spending much on free agents, I heard they are in on Forsberg but who knows where he lands. I don't see them signing more than one big free agent, the money won't make sense in a few years when Raymond and Seider need deals.

Nope I doubt it too. Poulin, POJ, two firsts? Even then im sure other teams could offer better packages...

After thought I just don’t think NJ would let the potential of Holtz smith and whoever they pick for pasta. Even tho he is insanely talented the thought of the potential value going to Boston probably makes them decline. I believe in proven talent but a lot more potential talent spaced out between three guys is going the other way. Hypothetically it’s Logan Cooley, Alexander Holtz and ty smith for pasta.

One thing I think you should consider is who your next centres are going to be. I would expect to use the NJ pick for one, but all those trades you made and you don't really have a top 6 centre coming back for the future. That is also a big weakness of the bruins right now.

I've always found that if you are indifferent about it and keep going back and forth, it's usually a good trade. I guess it would depend where jersey sees themselves this year.

thats the only issue I had as well making this yes Cooley would be my pick and I would take a center with the kings pick as well

I get that but Pasta is going to be up for Richard's for years and is proven the others aren't I get the 3 really good prospects for 1 elite level player argument but it also comes down to can any of those players reach pastas level

Vilardi could turn into a 2C though, I forgot about him. He should be on the roster. Maybe you don't end up signing one of those free agents and he takes their spot.

I wonder if marchment is going to be worth the money someone pays him in free agency, likely around what you signed him for I think.

its what I've seen for him on most ACGM on here I think he's worth 4 but free agents get overpayed normally

Detroit will have cheaper options and since it's a stop-gap until the kids mature we're looking for price will factor in.

I don't think Griz is a stop gap but as I said in a comment before it doesn't have to be Detroit

Yeah the value good but Detroit is just looking to plug a hole for a year or two so I really don't see Yzerman giving up a 2nd.
