Description
Florida likely feels they are close and want to take another stab at things with Reinhard, barkov, huberdeau, bennett, Duclair, Verhaeghe. But make some adjustments and not blow past the cap.

Jets need a center with any Scheifele Trade with a two year window to capitalize on Helly's contract (and I guess Wheelers). Taking enough 35+ players can work with some serviceable replacements like Harkins, Barron and maybe even Lucius if he's suddenly good.

Scheifele is very good and I honestly feel that no matter where he goes he will excel, we love to **** on anything remotely exceptional in Manitoba so even if the locker room cancer crap is entirely true (which it certainly isn't) it's nothing that can't be undone by adding him into a new setting. He has all the talent to play a more rounded game which could likely be accomplished by getting Trotz anyway. But if he has to go, I'd want some roster player on ELC with top 6 upside, another middle 6 roster player (which could be that ELC player if the main piece is a top 6 potential player ) and the third asset would be any right-shot defenseman, nonroster player, left-shot defenseman, pick, in that order. I would think if Hornquist wasn't used a ton this year, they may want to try and sign a big UFA/contend with 4 mil more on the books for Barkov.

Look at the money in vs out. It’s close to even. But yeah idk why they’d move Lundell unless they’re going all in and think scheifele is the piece to get them over the hump. They can’t score to save their lives against TB, but that’s mainly because they’re up against vasy. I think florida declines this for sure.

Kind of want that draft back, will be interesting going forward. Finally a scheifele trade that takes into account the massive hole going forward and chase for filling the 2c again. Or 1a or 1b. Depending on Dubois and his play going forward.

But that’s my point— FLA moves Hornqvist to gain cap space, and they don’t do that here. This deal doesn’t fix their cap issues at all.

Yeah I know it’s not great. Which is why I doubt Florida considers.

No from the Panthers. They need a guy like Lundell to get through their cap problems
