Delete that Sabres trade dude
We wouldn’t even give a 3rd for Hill, let alone a 1st
He’s not a starting level goalie

Sabres have three 1st round picks and Hill is a 6 foot 6 26 year old net-minder who has had .900+ SV% wherever he plays... they might be desperate to add a G.

While they finished the season in a rush, they were still 25 points out of the playoffs.
Last season the Sabres played:
Michael Houser; Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen; Craig Anderson; Dustin Tokarski; Aaron Dell; and Malcolm Subban at GK last year.
All of their GK's were either drafted, signed or traded for future considerations.
Do any of these moves resemble a team that is desperate?
They are not about to trade a first or second round pick over the next two drafts in a "desperate" move to make the playoffs.

Steep price but 6 foot 6 Goaltenders already playing well in the NHL dont grow on trees... going to be a late first anyway

Average Goalies just arent worth that kinda price like say a RHD

Arizona just unloaded OEL long term deal. They arent taking another in Vlasic. That deal is not digestible for any team without steep compensation like multiple 1sts and a bad deal in exchange

San Jose traded a mediocre goalie prospect and a 2nd for Hill (with 2 years left) and a 7th. He played worse in San Jose, was outplayed significantly by both Reimer and Kahkonen, was below league average in save %, and only has 1 year left on his deal until UFA now. Yet you think his value has increased from last season?

There will be better options in FA, or maybe a Talbot

Neither trade makes any sense. The rate for Hill is probably a 4th, and nobody is trading for Vlasic (not would he waive to go anywhere). Gregor and Dahlen won't get that much, expect closer to 1.25 each.
