Quoting: ChiHawk
Hawks probably wouldn't do Kane for Nylander 1 on 1 let alone include Strome. Nylander is a 2 year rental, and doesn't fit the rebuild as such. Kane as a 1 year rental, a better player then Nylander, hands down has more value to Toronto if they don't feel they are willing to or Nylander is willing to extend despite Kane being a 1 year rental versus Nylander being a 2 year rental.
Regardless, highly unlikely Kane waives to play in Toronto
If it's true that they are letting Strome walk then they might, Nylander can easily walk too so there will have to be other things on both sides for them to make the trade even if it's just exchanging picks and prospects.
I was just saying the 2 for 1 is more realistic than what he was saying, the Kyles would both want 4 pieces for their guy, if Strome isn't being qualified, then Chi might only ask for what a player like him would return as when ufa rights are being traded.
Nylander isn't too old considering Jones is part of the new core, Kane might be better but he is bound to drop off, so even if they extend him they will be paying a lot for him. Chi's rebuild is odd, I think they are just trying to tank for a year and get as much as they can in picks and have the fastest rebuild ever since everyone even their young players seem like they are on table. They seem to be doing something what Arizona is doing and what LA did.
