Isles say no. But honestly I’ve seen way worse so it’s not even worth shredding.

Yeah okay, I'm always for ripping off the other team. Good job.

Why would Arizona ever do that?

cap floor. Weber's got 4x$7.857M left on his deal but only costs $3M in real money this season, then $1M per year the last 3 years. They've stockpiled enough 2s & 3s from other cap dumps that sacrificing one of them for that kind of cap value would presumably be worth it.

I get that but trading the 34th overall pick to take someone else's problem off their hands when there's other ways to reach the cap floor seems kinda dumb doesn't it. I mean they're only about $11M from the cap floor and still need to ice an actual team, couldn't they collect more picks and/or prospects by taking short term cap dumps like they did last offseason??

Maybe drop it to a 3rd, or at best the lowest of the 4 2nds they have. It really depends a lot on what their money situation is going to be in the new arena. I could see them seeing basically $25M in free cap over the next 4 years as being worth that kind of outlay.

We can. As a Coyotes fan, this is not something we would do. As you said, there are cap dumps available and our GM has said that's the plan for this summer. Still, we were looking at Weber at the TDL and a deal was agreed upon, but didn't happen. If it does in the summer, no need to give up that high of a pick to help somebody else, even if it could help us as well.
