Johnson, Tyler
Murphy, Connor
2022 3rd round pick (VGK)

This is ridiculous.

This isn’t real, and trying to fool people here is meaningless because, this isn’t real.

Johnson is a cap dump, and Murphy missed the last 22 games with a concussion, after missing games earlier in the season because of a…concussion.

Even if you thought White was a cap dump, which he isn’t, he can be bought out at 1/3 this summer rather than do this ridiculous deal.

I was reading normally until I saw this piece :

2023 1st round pick (OTT)

Why would any team give a lottery ticket to Bedard/Michkov for Connor Murphy, a cap dump and a 3rd?

This is insane. Remove the picks and it's much more likely

It's more than 1/3. White buyout would be a 0.875 cap hit for the next 6 years. Actually it even adds $625,000 on our cap in the 3rd year.

You have that reversed, the team gets a cap credit that one season.

The dollar cost is 1/3, $5.25MM cost, $10.5MM saved

The cap hit is the cap hit, it doesn’t say cap hit discount, that’s the teams “dead cap” amount, is how I read it

Yeah when I say add, I didn't mean that we would add $625,000 on our cap but more to the "cap limit", wrong choice of word I guess.

I see the 1/3 being the total cost but it's because it's split on 6 years instead of 3. But we save 1/6 the first 3 years! Then add 1/6 the next 3

We're both saying the same thing, but differently. Let the link do the work! lol
