I'd ask for Kaliyev or Turcotte. Obviously NYR would add but I don't see why we'd trade Lindgren otherwise. He's a staple in our top 4.

I don't think LA would include either of those players if Lindgren was the prize coming back.

Dallas isn't going to breakup one of the Leagues best lines while they are still trying to contend, you're assuming won't be a playoff/wild card team. Jones can't replace Lindgren who plays 20+ minutes on the top pair, come on dude. Are you trying to weaken your team in every aspect just to keep Kakko?

So DAL who is only getting older and slower, they aren’t going to be a playoff team. So when TDL hits they will break up the “one of the best lines” to receive compensation to rebuild/ retool. As for Jones he can definitely do it. Anyways you’re clearly dead set on Kakko OS concepts so have fun

Then good luck with 15 players and 7 mil in cap space. The offers sheet is all about Rangers cannot match it. Make this offer two years - they could loose Laf or Miller as well.

And why is that ? Being kind one to another ?
You can have 21 yrs old 2OA for 2nd round pick. He struggles, but is young and could change to course in new environment.
This is something worth exploring.

Agreed. I just tried to do the math, doesn't look good.
https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/3287217

1. The math sure gets tighter if they have to match 4.2M...but most "lineups" here have Kakko making about 2.5M...coming up with another 1.7 M is not insignificant- but there are numerous paths to do that...and they do have the prospect depth (especially on D) to plug in cheap players rather than keep (or extend) more expensive players.

2. Regarding expiring ELCs for LaF and Miller: for sure decisions will have to be made- can't keep everyone...but while (of course) decisions made this summer will affect everything going forward- they still have a whole year to decide how to make LaF and Miller fit- OR- move one of them -and get a boatload of assets in return

3. Offer sheets are not rare because teams are nice to each other...they are probably rare because GMs would rather not play dirty like that. In addition to certainly having to fend off offer sheets against them, it doesn't make it easier to do other business with others when you have the reputation of "cutting other at the knees". For these reasons there does seem to be somewhat of a CODE between GMs- if this didn't exist, TB would have faced offer sheets for both Serg and Cirelli.
