feel like he's definitely going somewhere northeast. Making him the Tied-3rd highest paid player in the league though? Maybe 0.5-1mill too much, but if it's that much of a bid battle and considering the cap will slowly rise, it may take that to get him. Also narrows down the list of teams that can afford him

I'm kinda with you here - Gaudreau is definitely good but I feel like I'd pass if this is the number. The only players with a higher AAV are McDavid, Matthews, & Panarin - is he actually at that level? I'm not 100% sure of that.

He's coming off a 115 point season. I think he's worth closer to 10M than that, but he's the piece to make them contenders and you're gonna have to slightly overpay for him. NJD and PHI (potentially if they can move some cap) would both be able to afford it.

Nick Leddy wanted $4,500,000 x 4 years to remain in Detroit, He sure isn't signing that on Long Island.

And it was reported at the Trade Deadline that Semyon Varlamov wouldn't waive for either Edmonton or the Capitals.

Yeah, but Panarin was at least 6 feet. Dunno why, can't see Lou throwing money at 5'9" Gaudreau

Pageau is 5'9" and gave up a 1st and more than gave him a 6 year/5M. Wouldn't say never lol

He traded a 1st for 5'10 pageau. I don't think Lou really cares if he's 5'9 as long as he produces.

He's better than Panarin , I don't know if I'd pay him 11.5 but if I had the option of paying Forsberg 9 mill or gaudreau 11.5 im taking Gaudreau

How about we just trade some prospects/picks and go get Fiala. Pay him 7.5-8.0 aav. Save some money to get a real puck moving defenseman

No one's on Mcdavids level, but I'd say he's in the conversation with Matthews, Panarin, Pastrnak, Marchand , Rantanen etc

depends on the cost, id trade the 2022 1st , 2nd and Holmstrom for Fiala, but I'm not giving up Raty/Wahlstrom + a 1st.

We'd have to trade more picks for a puck moving d-man. Gaudreau has been a top 5 point producer for like the past 5 years, I'll take him

Rielly, Soucey, Kulack are all better options that are realistic and you don't have to trade any high end picks or prospects

We could still get any of those guys with signing Gaudreau. Don't trade Bailey for Brannstrom and don't sign Leddy and they'd all be affordable.

Yeah I just don't want to see a declining Dman that wants more money to come back. That would be the worse thing Lou could do

same here, Don't think Guerrin will ask for that they know they can't pay him. Guerrin Loves Dumba alot more than Fiala. plus they want to keep MAF. The only way I could see Guerrin asking for Raty/Wahlstrom + a 1st, is if Ottawa offers their First and a B+ prospect but I doubt Ottawa can afford Fiala long term.

I’d be shocked if Ottawa gives two players over 7 mill this offseason . Norris is an RFA

The Devils say they might trade their pick to get a winger but I don't think they would honestly turn down Shane Wright /Logan Cooley or Juraj Slafkovsky

There have been loose Gaudreau rumors to Columbus within the past 2 years.
Now how credible are those? not very sure. Probably just because we have room and they figure he's coming to the east, or it was just as a Panarin substitute, not sure why he would come here though. Unless he's money hungry/wants to start a family lol

I don't see him ending up in Columbus, but it's a possibility. Him and Laine would combine for a ton of points. He'll get the bag wherever he goes.
