Description

What I feel is a possible slightly unrealistic but awesome sens offseason could look like. Solidifying forward core and the top four for years to come. Could move Gustavsson for another piece. 4 million in dead cap is a bit of a concern but with Boston potentially falling off, I feel as though this sens team could really push for a wild card spot. There is a market for Nikita Zaitsev in the form of the islanders. Lou loves his guys (see Ross Johnston) Nikita is only slight worse than Chariot and there is definetly enough of a market out there.

Honestly, I don't think any other team is taking on that contract except for one team and its Arizona, they need to reach cap floor, and as I said in a thread before, playing in a college arena isn't gonna be appealing for the UFAs

I think Seeing chariot go for a first who is only slightly better than Nikita means there is some sort of market for him. I know it seems crazy because he is objectively the worst defenceman I have ever seen with my own eyes. He is not an NHLer. However, NHL GMs are absolutely interested in him at 3.5m. He is a shot-blocking poorly clearing, mistake-making defenceman which means he has tremendous value in the NHL despite everyone knowing he is awful.

Ben Chariot to me is the same thing and at 3.5 million it is conceivable that a gm in the NHL will take him. He blocks shots and is physical and for some reason, most gms love to overlook everything else. SCREAMS A LOU TRADE ON GOD

Has Lou ever traded for a player making over 3 mill to be his 7th defenseman? Am I missing something?

Doesn’t make any sense for isles since he is a righty. I’m not convinced he’s as bad as his metrics say, but rn the only way I’m taking his contract on is for multiple draft picks.

it’s true, but i’d hope lou recognizes he has 3 RD on the roster better than zaitsev and not trade for him

Lol off this is no where close enough for Chychrun or Konecny…sabres have a better chance of making playoffs than the sens. Sens were one of worst teams in the league last year and have shown almost no improvement.

Yes clearly Zaitsev has a good reputation considering Smith always praises him, I’m just stating that despite the fact Lou signed him, there’s no shot he gets traded to the isles. Lou just gave Pulock an 8 year contract and Dobson was Lous 1st draft pick with the isles.
