I personally think CHI accepts that trade all day. But I'm sure there are some that will disagree.

lol. Also, Murphy would most likely be the Pens top pairing RHD. This seasons stat lines may not agree with me, but he is a much better defender than Marino.

I agree. I didn't put a lot of thought behind the pairings. I figured him and Marino would duke it out.

Very true. Chemistry would very much play a role. If Marino and Matheson already have great chemistry they probably don't break that up.

I think the plus of a dcore lineup like this is you can really change things up depending on game situations.

Marino's sample size with Matheson this year was actually crazy good and I'm confused why they didn't keep them together earlier in the season.

In terms of value it's fine for Murph but imo it's a whole lot of nothing. I'm not high on Poulin at all however and Don't really love Kapanen either

I was yelling at my tv during the playoffs to swap Matheson and Pettersson because Matheson was way better being with Marino than Letang

Agreed. They had trouble last year, so they seem hesitant to go back for long periods of time.

It's all workable in terms of the prospects. I'm not high on Poulin either, but he really turned it around in the second half of the NHL season. Don't sleep on Zohorna though. I was hesitant to throw him in, but with this lineup it allows the Pens to spend a little more.

For sure. I totally considered those things as well. But looking back through trades in recent years of players similar to Murphy, this is about as good as it gets. CHI could probably flip those pieces for more too. Kapanen is kind of a Kubalik situation, could be worth a 2nd or 3rd in trade. Zohorna could be TDL trade bait if he uses his big body more this season. And Poulin still has plenty of time to become a legit NHL forward.

I would prefer just a 1st coming back. I would prefer just the pens 2022 1st over this package I think

No problem keeping him then. Top 4 RHD's don't grow on trees. And he wears the A for the hawks anyways

I mean, I just disagree with you. I think they'd take a deal similar to this.
