I'd keep Mete over Hamonic, and would send either Forsberg or Murray away to make room for Gus or Soogard as backup. We need those guys to grow more than we need older goaltenders to stay in net. Also, where did White go?

Looks like a good team aside from that.

Enjoy him. He's prone to a dumb turnover now and then and sometimes he gets on cold streaks (still plays hard, just gets snakebitten) but holy hell is he an offensive generator. Think he's a perfect linemate for Timmy

Playoffs seem optimistic based on their underlying numbers this year but maybe with BOS/PIT/WSH on the potential decline?

With Fiala they could have 5 60+ pt players plus a strong checking line with Pinto and Connor Brown and either Formenton or Greig. They just need .915 goaltending

Really come around to the whole "trade for a Dman thing". The blueline isn't good enough, and they can't address it via free agency. The fact that Ottawa is rumoured to be looking for a top 4 Dman is a good sign that they've realized that Hamonic is not enough to sort out that blueline.

As for forwards, I think Ottawa has the assets to make that D add AND still go big game hunting for a forward. That said I think the best option for Ottawa would be Val Nichushkin. Top six forward with stellar underlying metrics, and all he would cost is money. Still up in the air whether he actually hits the open market, but if he does Ottawa should go after him aggressively.

The only thing they can do about the blue line is trade up to 5 for Jiricek or just wait till JBD/Thomson are ready
