Sorry, you should stop at the delusion that NTC Muzzin is waiving for the Isles or that any team would give up picks only instead of similar cap in a Muzzin trade.

Why would Seattle make this trade? I'm curious.

Honestly more of a change of scenery for both goalies, I think both are better than what they showed last year.

Muzzin is a top 4 dman making little to no money over the next two years. New York Islanders love their Vets and they need some left shooting defensemen. It's a fair trade.

Pens need finishers. Kerfoot is a fine player, but he's just not what the Pens need.

It's not a fair trade at all. Just tell us why does Muzzin waive his NTC to go to a non playoff team from the good Leafs team? Why does Muzzin leave his "hometown" Leafs.

Either way, Muzzin didn't play to his 5.6m cap hit, and the Isles or no team would not be interested unless they were sending similar cap to the Leafs.,

Driedger makes 3.5 mil AAV with 2 years left on his contract. Mrazek makes 3.8 mil AAV with 2 years left on his contract. It just seems like a redundant trade. I get the change of scenery aspect but at this stage of their careers, I think both Driedger and Mrazek are what they are. Borderline NHL goalies.

Yeah but Muzzin's cap hit is 5.6 mil AAV. Isles have other needs. They can't be wasting it all on 33 year old Muzzin who has concussion issues.

Are you really asking me how I would know someone would waive their no trade? Lol I'm not the player, it's a hypothetical trade don't read too much into it. His cap hit is 5.5 whatever but in actual salary it's much less over the next two years. If other teams are not interested in a top 4 dman who granted has injury concerns but is still really good and who's getting paid less actual dollars, they shouldn't be the gm. Players of Muzzin's calibre don't grow on trees.

Plus, the Isles went back to back eastern confrence finals. They're a good team. They didn't make it cause they played 2p games on the road to start the year.

Isles aren't a cap floor team so they don't care about how much he's actually getting paid, they care about that $5.625M cap hit. There are better, younger, and healthier options out there with lower cap hits that can be acquired for less draft capital. If you want to take back Josh Bailey in that deal, or retain some of that cap hit down, then maybe we can talk. Otherwise I'm not interested in giving up this much for a guy on the downside of his career.

No, I don't expect anyone to know what goes on in players mind. But it is fair for anyone who makes a post is to think logically. I guess I could presume that NTC Crosby demands a trade a from the Pens or else he will retire and the only team that he would play for the the Leafs. Leafs acquire Crosby for a seventh rounder.
