ARZ is much more likely to move down than moving up.

I don't think Arizona want to move down. They want a center. They hope Cooley fall at 3, but would love to get Wright at 1.

If I was GM, there is no way in hell I am moving down from 1st OVA. Our biggest need is a top 6 Center, it has been for more than 10 years. We now have a shot at drafting a can't miss top 6 center with a 90-95% chance of being a top 6 C and a 98-99% shot at being a middle 6 C and you want to give it up for a guy who has a 60% shot to be an NHL regular and a couple of prospects who have less than 30% chance of making the NHL in any role. Thanks but no thanks, its not worth it. Unless you are moving 1st for a top 6 center prospect and a top 4 RD prospect who have yet to make it and a top 5 pick, then it is not worth moving the 1st OVA. Any deal HAS to make sense, we have to get an NHL ready prospect who has 80+% to be a top 6 C and a top 5 pick.

I don't see the need for taking Weber's contract. Moving up to select Wright is probably high on their list. Bill Armstrong mentioned Wright by name at the post lottery presser and tanked really hard this season. The price is okay. I'd give the COL 1st. Then again, personally I wouldn't move up at all since the gap between the top 3 forwards aren't that big.

Hughes being a big NCAA guy, i think he wants to draft Cooley, but have to pick Wright at 1.

I also think the gap between Cooley and Wright is not that big. Adding 27 and switching 33 for Avs pick would add 2 picks for draft day in MTL.

Even if Cooley is picked 2nd, i would draft Nemec. I think this draft will look like 2017. Best players could be 3-5.

AZ would benefit from Weber's contract because it counts for 7.8M on the cap, helping them reach cap floor, but only cost an average of 1.5M for the next 4 years.
