Description
I saw a Montreal fan make this trade and I wanted to see what it would look like from a Pitt perspective. I don’t see Hextall moving the first round pick but who knows.

You sign Kulak and dont put him back with Petry? They were good together remember the bubble!

Dont think Pens go after Petry if they sign Letang. He will get a 1st rounder tho so it makes sense that the Pens do it with their 3 year window under Crosby/Malkin/Letang

Miller trade looks legit. Canucks need prospect and picks. They would probably ask for a pick instead of Kapanen

Highly doubt mtl would accept that and that’s in our benefit. At this day and age our team is pretty old as it is, the last thing we need is a 34 year old aging Jeff Petry coming off a down year.

No point in trading a first for Miller at that point with Geno signed

Also, slight overpays to POJ, Nylander, Geno

That's a very easy pass for Montreal. It's probably a good idea to move off of Hoffman, even if they have to eat Zucker's contract, but retaining on Petry for three years (who's still easily a top pair D-man on a fair contract) to move up from the late 2nd to the mid/late 1st, in a draft where they have the 1st, 26th and 33rd picks, is straight up bad.

Horrible trade for the pens, We ain’t giving up our first
Petry is the same age as letang and on a HEAVY decline
And Hoffman was absolutely horrendous as well and on the wrong side of 30, he straight doesn’t try on Defense
