4 million for Holtby? 5 million for Edler to play on the third pairing? No Edvinsson or Berggren? Moose is not a second line center. And no thanks on those trades. None of those are players I'd target.

Rangers aren't trading Zac Jones in a cap dump. We'll attach Nemeth with a 3rd or Georgiev to move him.

Yzerman isn't bringing Lucic to Detroit and Lucic isn't waiving for Detroit. Not only does NYR reject that trade Yzerman isn't bring Nemeth back to Detroit. Detroit really doesn't need more wingers with holes elsewhere a JP is not worth a 2nd and a 3rd.

You're right - Puljujarvi is worth FAR MORE than that. Here's why.

He's among the very best in the league in on-ice impact:

CF% Rel: 4th among all forwards
    FF% Rel: 5th
    SF% Rel: 4th
    GF% Rel: 5th
    xGF% Rel: 3rd

    NST link

You don't trade a 23-year-old who has a top-5 impact in the entire league, especially when he's relatively affordable. There's no logical justification for it. And especially not for that weak-ass offer.

While I agree that wingers aren't our biggest need, I don't think you turn down Puljujarvi for a 2nd and a 3rd.

I like the Mamin signing. Low risk and has shown some potential as a late bloomer.

We definitely have needs on LD, but I'm not sure that this group is what we are looking for. I think Edler might be fine if not my preference, but probably Walman and one Edvinsson, Johansson, and Wallinder will make the team. That doesn't really leave room for the rest, since none of them are needle moving guys.

I think Holtby would be a fine addition, I think Cossa is 2-3 years away, so the 1-year term for more money option may be less ideal.

Ok his rels are good but they really don't give you the whole picture. Besides your rels would good playing with McDavid and/or Draisaitl for most of the season. He has never hit the 20g mark and depspite playing with arguably the 2 best players in the world he put up 36 points. To put things in to perspective Suter who was Detroit's 2C but talent wise he is a 3C and he had the same amount of points as JP. Would you give up a 2nd and a 3rd for him? Gagner at 32 and played in Detroit's bottom 6 all season put up 31 points. His trade value is probably around a 4th because of his age. By no means am I saying JP is a bad player in fact he is a good player but I wouldn't give up a 2nd to get him.

Not sure you understand Rels. His results were better than McDavid's or Draisaitl's this season. He's not available.

Holland doesn't even pick up the phone for a 2nd. tears of joy

I completely understand his rels and the reason his are better than McDavid's is TOI. McDavid averaged 22:04 minutes a game while JP averaged 16:14 minutes a game.

After look at their rels not sure why you added Draisaitl. I had never looked up his rels and I was surprised with his they are all negative. Despite that he is still one of the best players in the world.

future considerations for who? it would have to be a very good player. JB is not going to play and his 4+ mil contract on LTIR is worth a 2nd from vegas or TB. so your getting a 2nd and a 3rd for future considerations of a good player that the devils would have to need now not in 2 or 3 years

Did you read the article I posted a link to? Puljujarvi made EVERYONE'S results better. It's not all about McDavid.

Here, I'll post it again to make it easier for you: Here's why.
