Idk how your drafting all 3 of those guys. Maybe 2 but all 3 will be gone before our 2nd round pick.

It doesn’t make sense for Buffalo to pay such a high price to move up only a couple spots.

8 spots, think that 2nd from Buffalo should be next year. If Washington's pick 52 is there for 41 than keep it and make It Buffalo's 3rd in 2022

Detroit passes, We're not dropping down 8 spots when there's at least 6 to 7 very good players we could draft with the 8th overall pick.

1 Matthew Savoie 50/50 he's there at number 8
2 Brad Lambert.
3 Frank Nazar.
4 Conor Geekie.
5 Jonathan Lekkerimaki
6 Marco Kasper
7 Cutter Gauthier

We can and we will, Far better players at #8 than #16 by a country mile.

Top 5 players drafted 8th OA:

Year Player Position Team GP G A Pts PIM
1979 Ray Bourque DEFENSE Boston Bruins 1612 410 1169 1579 1141
1988 Jeremy Roenick FORWARD Chicago Blackhawks 1363 513 703 1216 1463
1973 Bob Gainey FORWARD Montreal Canadiens 1160 239 262 501 585
1984 Shayne Corson FORWARD Montreal Canadiens 1156 273 420 693 2357
1970 Darryl Sittler FORWARD Toronto Maple Leafs 1096 484 637 1121 948

Top five players drafted 16th OA:

Year Player Position Team GP G A Pts PIM
1982 Dave Andreychuk ......FORWARD Buffalo Sabres 1639 640 698 1338 1125
1991 Markus Naslund FORWARD Pittsburgh Penguins 1117 395 474 869 736
1979 Jay Wells ..........DEFENSE Los Angeles Kings 1098 47 216 263 2359
1983 Gerald Diduck DEFENSE New York Islanders 932 ........56 156 212 1612
1987 Bryan Marchment DEFENSE Winnipeg Jets 926 ........40 142 182 2307

Top five players taken 28th OA:

Year Player Position Team GP G A Pts PIM
2000 Justin Williams FORWARD Philadelphia Flyers 1264 320 477 797 766
2003 Corey Perry FORWARD Anaheim Mighty Ducks 1162 402 449 851 1276
2006 Nick Foligno FORWARD Ottawa Senators ...............1007 205 292 497 820

2005 Matt Niskanen DEFENSE Dallas Stars .................949 72 284 356 489

I think I would keep the two first round dart to throw at the draft board.
May be able to hit two home runs instead of only one.

BTW the 41st OA top five players drop off dramatically:
1979 Dale Hunter FORWARD Quebec Nordiques 1407 323 697 1020 3563
1983 Peter Zezel FORWARD Philadelphia Flyers 873 ........219 389 608 435

2010 Patrik Nemeth DEFENSE Dallas Stars ........422 ........10 53 63 208
2005 Ondrej Pavelec GOALIE Atlanta Thrashers 398 ..........0 6 6 12
2004 Bryan Bickell FORWARD Chicago Blackhawks 395 ........66 70 136 192
