I really don't think Fiala is going to Carolina but obviously its possible, just not for that

Necas and a first/second and maybe a smaller prospect would probably be the offer for Fiala. Drury isn’t going anywhere, especially since he likely makes the roster full time next season. But looking at the Canes right now, they definitely need a sniper, but I have a feeling that they will try running in back for another year. If Necas can truly breakout, he doesn’t get traded, but what happens afterward is a mystery. I am pretty sure Nino already has a deal in place, and there is a mutual interest between Tro and the Canes to resign, but I don’t know if that happens or not. And then TDA, probably takes a discount to keep rebuilding his image and play for a contender, but again, the future is a mystery.

That being said, Bear is likely traded in the off-season, and I think Canes go for a cheaper third pairing d than Rutta. Plus, Canes have at least 4 dmen in Chicago that could make the roster next year. Sellgren and Lajoie on the left and Chatfield and Keane on the right provides 4 quality options that can be rotated.

I think Fiala makes sense in CAR and Necas makes sense as part of that deal but it’s probably Necas and a pick. Drury likely wouldn’t be going as part of that deal or really many others. He’s ready to play in the league and we’ll also need cheap ELC impact players if we spend in UFA.

Now if it’s a pick is a 2nd rounder gonna do it. I think it’s leaning towards a 1st but I don’t know if guerin wants a 2023 1st. I think he’s looking at this year. So if you throw in next years first you might even have to sweeten the offer. But hey I give this the first proposal where someone legitimately wrote what it actually will cost to sign Fiala. I just saw one where it’s a laughable $6.5 mill. Yeah he’ll even laugh at that kind of offer. He’s getting over 7 if not 8 mill a year.

I would think next years first for a couple reasons would/should do it for both sides. 23 draft is deeper which benefits wild, canes don’t have 22 first so probably don’t want to give up second this year as well.

I genuinly dont understand why he gets more than Kyle Connor, but in this post I tried to consider the worst case possible for CAR.
