Doubt if the Flyers could absorb all that cap hit. More money would have back to Flames.

Pass by the Flyers. Can't give up half our starting defense and all those picks for one player basically...

..because some fans are impatient and/or don't appreciate what they have. I don't know if Westerner really wants to trade Gaudreau or if he's just having fun. I suspect it's the latter, as most Flames fans hope Johnny is a Flame for a very long time.

Don't think Hextall gives up Myers and Gudas and Sanheim plus two draft picks just for Gaudreau...pass

Don't get me wrong, Gaudreau could slide on the top line, as we lack dynamic top line talent. I would be shocked if Hextall pulled a deal of this magnitude after he has preached patience and building from within. Sanheim and Myers are blue chip prospects who haven't even played in the NHL yet. Add in the 1st/2nd and I think it is too much for Johnny Hockey.

I don't think this deal happens either, but again it's not just for Johnny Hockey. The OP also included a 26 year old top pairing Dman on a sweetheart contract who goes by the name of TJ Brodie.

Why give up two guys who have top pair potential on ELCs when they have the chance to draft a dynamic forward too? It's not like the Flyers completely lack guys that can play on the top line. Plus, with Myers and Gudas gone, the Flyers would have no right handed Dmen and that same situation led us to trade JvR for Luke Schenn.

Well top line guys with game changing abilities. Sure, we have the big three up front, and if they return to form, great. It's more of Hextall not pulling the trigger and that first on top of two prospects makes me agree. I don't know a whole lot about TJ Brodie except that he played with Giordano.
