Since Boston is probably moving in a new direction

Description
Marchand would be an absolutely incredible Islander. Even though Trotz is no longer the coach, the identity of being a defensively built team that is hard to play against will likely stay in tact, and I think Marchand is exactly that. Him and Barzal would work wonders together on a line. I have no idea what his value would be, because although he is a star and is one of the best two-way players in the league, he is also 34.

Also ignore me being over the cap because salary in some form would be moved out in a trade for Marchand, whether it’s Beauvillier or someone else

For Marchand it would be Dobson, Barzal, Sorokin, every draft pick, Wahlstrom, Pulock, Pelech, Nelson (aka NO)

He's out till December and I don't see Boston moving him unless he request a trade.

Marchand is not getting moved and Boston would be asking for a 1st, Whalstrom and Raty which the Isles shouldn’t do.

Let’s stick the the CF certified Reilly for a 3rd trade.

Agree with both of these points. Marchand is on an incredible contract (one of the best in the league) for the next three years and he is the heart and soul of the Bruins, so it is very unlikely he is moved. However, if Boston truly wants to commit to a rebuild, their prospect pool is pretty barren outside of Fabian Lysell and Marchand would bring back a HUGE haul. Just something to consider.

He would, but I don't trust the current management group (Neely/Sweeney) to actually get good value and not screw up any draft picks they'd get. I'm terrified of those two being in charge of a rebuild

Even if they went for a full rebuild, the Bruins won't and shouldn't move Marchand unless he asks for a trade. Yea the haul would be incredible, but sometimes its more important to keep and do right by the players that have been the face of your franchise (and have taken massive contractual discounts).

They probably fired cassidy because of complaints from people like marchand. Management probably wants him to stay
