No, not getting both Morrow and Necas, not how the Canes roll their assets. Miller probably gonna have to go somewhere else.

Then its Necas, Heimosalmi, 1st and 3rd. But everyone and their dog knows that JT is a fit in CAR when VT leaves

I really like boesser as a player and think he could flourish with Crosby, but I feel like it would be easier to find a Boesser replacement in FA than a Marino replacement in FA.

I guess Pitt accepts if they can sign a reasonable deal with boesser, resign Letang, and sign a 2nd pair guy from FA

Extension could work out tbh. Would really depend how the year in CAR goes. I can see JT's ask coming down from the presumed 8.5m/yr and he feels like the exact guy to fit into Rod's system. If VAN retain 50% too give CAR more flexibility to spend on D. Genuinely think it makes too much sense for both teams

Yea I think its a slight underpay by PIT but I think the caveat of the Boeser OS makes things a little complicated

Agreed, we would probably have to add a little bit but I don’t think he’s going anywhere he’s probably staying in Vancouver if I had to take a guess, though I would absolutely love him in a pens jersey

What I said was, I could see that ask coming down. Would really depend on the year thats had but I can see it being a match made in heaven and both sides willing to find an extension that works. Would have to be below the 8.4 Aho is making anyways

Lot of what ifs for a team who closely manages their team controlled assets.

Honestly I don't want him to leave VAN, he is perfect with Petey but the right-side D needs to be addressed

The Miller to CAR idea needs to die. It doesn’t work.

Explain how it doesn't make sense.

He’s going to be 30 very soon and only signed for 1 yr. The Canes won’t be re-signing a 30yr old to an $8M+ contract for 7-8yrs. They’re also not going to trade absurd value for 1yr of Miller’s services.

Not that hard.

CAR is in tough on the cap next year. Bring in a 29* y/o 99pt player who plays in ALL situations and the perfect style to fit the CAR system at 2.625m (50% retained) to fill the spot that will be vacated by VT and then (maybe) sign an extension that works for both sides.

Or…do what they typically do…go for younger players with term…Nylander perhaps. Laine or Fiala as an RFA. Forsberg Or Gaudreau as UFAs. Maybe even a Giroux.

All of those options make more sense for the Canes over 1 yr of Miller. They were a top 5 team without Miller. They could always bring back most of their current roster and add an impact player at the deadline, much cheaper than the ridiculous asks on here.

They’re not going to pay a 30yr old player $8M for max term unless that player is McDavid. You need to understand that. Miller to CAR will not work.
