Why would the Wings want Petry? Let alone for a 1st rounder.

But we have two RHD in house now in Seider and Hronek. We need LHD duh! Wings fan have been saying this for 3 months, ever since the Hab fans decided to solve their cap with sending Petry home. Here is a clue, Wings fans are not as provincial as Hab fans, we want to get better not bring in older home town guys that cost too much. If that was the case, we would be looking at Conner, Hellybuck, Norris and Copp before we ever looked at Petry.

You should 100%keep him then.

Whatever verbiage you choose to use to argue why you wouldn't keep him.. use those exact same words to explain why we wouldn't want him either.

It's that easy

He doesn’t want to play in Canada. Last time I checked, Detroit isn’t in Canada

It only tanks his value to Canadian teams, and once again, Detroit isn’t in Canada

Well no.. if teams know he will only play in the US, or in cities that start with the letter C, then they know they have the upperhand.

Moreover, Detroit needs him less than the team wishing to sell him which again decreases his value.

I hope he has a great season in Montreal
