He's great defensively and can drive offence. His only issue is finishing. Talbot is an old, inconsistent goalie on an expiring deal. Anyone who has any second thoughts about this on minnesota's end needs to go

Sure, Puljujarvi has more value than Talbot. I would definitely not say he “drives offense” though. Players that drive offense don’t score around .5 ppg next to the highest scoring player in the league.

Again it's a base. Smith retires, Oilers get a goalie who had really good numbers at a decent cap.
