How many Finnish league games did you watch this season?

Are you a paid, professional hockey scout? Because I know that I'm not, and I'm willing to bet that neither you nor @Isles10 are either, so I'm not sure what kind of stock to put in any of us saying a guy "passes the eye test", which is already a ridiculously subjective thing to begin with.

The most objective thing we can do as knowledgeable fans is look at the numbers and try and build out correlations from them. Like with Raty - as I said, only 8 players in that league have ever had that type of performance in their age-19 season. The two dudes you tried to bring up had *worse* point per game averages (and one of them is still just 21 and made his North American debut 5 weeks ago). And of the 8 players that had better numbers than Raty: 5 of them have played 500+ NHL games. 2 of them were rookies getting ice time on a 58-win team this year. And 1 of them washed out after a cup of coffee. I don't know how any knowledgeable fan can look at that cohort and say "Ah, well, it's very unlikely he turns into something." Most folks would say that, barring injury, he's shown the skillset to have a pretty decent NHL career at worst.

But I know that's something that's backed up with logic and numbers, and not some subjective opinion like "I watched a game once" so I'm sure you'll find a way to dismiss it.

I actually was once upon a time. Not good pay. Not high-level. Definitely not a career. But technically the answer to your question is yes.

But the greater point here is someone saying, or insinuating that all I’m doing is going off numbers…while they’re doing the same thing.

Wtf does that have to do with anything? You wouldn’t trust my eye anyway, his numbers and projection tells everyone he probably will become a good top-six center in the NHL, but it’s very hard for you to grasp.

Sorry, what did i say about second rounders? Surely it wasn’t that, because that doesn’t make any sense.
You want some numbers on Wahlstrom and Beauvillier? You really can’t just watch and realize that in the context of a David pastrnak trade, the suck? Fine. 12 goals and 13 goals. Simple.

You said Räty is a 2nd rounder who is ”far far far more likely to become a bust” lol. Once again you’re coming to the conclusion that they suck based on their goals this year lol.

You’re calling someone else a child? Seriously? You still haven’t understood my position, because you refuse to. Its right here in this thread, but you say something as stupid as, “because all second rounders are the same player.” Are you kidding me? Go read dude. Do you realize how stupid it is to be thumping your chest thinking you’ve won an argument when you still haven’t taken the time to thoroughly read a few sentences and understand their position? Absolutely pathetic.

Have you answered one single question against your stance in this thread so far? No, everything is based on your ”very logical opinion” but me and @dannibalcorpse opinions doesn’t matter at all because we are homers lol.

Please stop, you were not a former scout, if you were you would not be as ignorant as you are regarding ”european leagues” lol, you’re probably a 12-year old living in a basement somewhere loving to troll on this forum.

Couple things to note: I’ve never watched a Finnish league game. There are NHL scouts that haven’t either. That wasn’t me.

I’m 34.

Someone disagreeing with you doesn’t make them a troll. You thinking it does makes you weak minded.

All of them. Go back and read. I don’t think you actually read the posts you’ve responded to.

You asked if all i cared about was the numbers or whatever.

I said second rounders are far more likely to not be NHL players than they are impact NHL players.

That is objectively true.
