would be a very stupid move from edmonton. only stauffer and sector have been pushing for it though. all other oiler insiders say management has even thought about andy for a second. as an oiler fan I hope they don't move for him

The only stupid move is doing nothing like 2021 in the McDrai years.

Getting the powerhorse over a bunch of maybes and Kassians salary ain’t bad.
I was thinking Gallagher as an option as Anderson would probably nix the trade whereas Gally would come home and be a cheaper return. Maybe it could happen with the smoke around this rumour.
You don’t get a 28 year old power forward like Anderson for anything but a bounty. It will be the same song and dance we heard about Lucic and Kane. Kane worked because of his speed. Anderson can keep up unlike Lucic

I think you can use bourgeault in a good hockey trade not as a way to dump kassian. we have barrie who does have value and Montreal reportedly wants. andersson for barrie and another piece would be a much more effective hockey trade. Also Lucic was once able to keep pace too.... Anderson gives major lucic red flag vibes

Everyone is giving Kane a long term deal, I dont see the harm is taking another kind of risk with Anderson. Is it risky to bet on a guy scoring 60-70 pts on Mcdavid's wing to justify this deal, of course! But I tell you. Every ACGM I've seen has been either some with Keith/Smith retiring and others with the kids Bourgault/Holloway/Kuzmenko coming in to play on the top6, that is just too much risk in the McDrai years. They must do something bold here and that requires risk. That was a gift in getting Kane for so cheap, it aint happening this offseason. Its either we sell off completely and hope to buy back at the deadline if somewhat close to contention or be a bit creative here. I'm not opposed to keeping Bourgault and Holloway, letting them play in the top 6 but anyone expecting them to play a full year and contributing 40 plus points is a bit delusional.

I agree with what you are saying but, Anderson is a middle 6 player, with injury issues who is a power forward about to hit 30 yo as a. oilers have history betting on powerforward at this age range several time recently and it doesn't pay off. if we are going to handicap our cap situation it has be to for a impact guy that helps us take a step and sorry andersson just isn't that. i think seattle and mtl are frontrunners for barrie. Mtl wanting him most but seattle having better packages available
