The main reason for moving mrazek is cap space. Swapping it dollar for dollar with a goalie who is just as bad doent help anything and the leafs have all the issues they had before.
They still need a starter, and they still need thr extra cap space to do so.

Ottawa would rather keep Murray then

Murray was great in January until he got hurt

Plus the leafs aren’t throwing Ottawa anything to retain his salary

In what respect? Both had a miserable year. Both were waived to minors.

I'm not sure if you misjudged some math but ottawa saves 200k x 2 for their Belleville goaltender. Or they can buy mrazek out. I don't care either way. Incentive us there to make the trade.

Mrazek was great in March till he got hurt. I don't see what your point is.

Why would the leafs throw anything in for salary retention on a 6.25m ahl goalie?

Ottawa saves 400k over 2 years. Simple as that. They have their goaltenders already.

Actually no, murray finished in the ahl. Is that what you are hanging on? Murray is a good ahl goalie?

Over the last 3 seasons mrazek has been the better goalie. You have no legs to stand on.

murray played a grand total of 2 ahl games. mrazek was the worst goalie that played 20 games or more this season. he finished last in save percentage

Im not sure what sort of advantage you think the pressbox is.

Ottawa has forsberg soggard and Gustafsson. I don't see them playing murray.

What are you talking about? Korpisalo holds that distinction.

I just don't understand how anyone can sit here and argue how good Matt Murray is. Maybe your team should make a trade for him.

oh my mistake just above korpi. despite playing on a loaded team.

no one is saying murray is good. he doesnt need to be good to be an improvement on mrazek

No but he would need to actually be an improvement on mrazek. Murray was waived by ottawa 😂. There is no way in this universe you recieve any positive value on a goalie making 6.25m that was so bad last season he was waived.

The same goes for the leafs. If you retained half of mrazeks contract the best you will get is nothing in return. And that is best case scenario. What do you think a comparable goalie making twice as much gets?

Again, the money isn't equal. This is elementary school math. But either way keafs aren't adding **** for a sideways move.

200k difference.... not enough. maybe murray for mrazek no retention would work.

No one is taking that Murray contract 😂. Why would leafs take on an extra 3m in cap for absolutely no reason?

I got a feeling Murray is just gonna get bought out

Toronto can then swoop in and sign him to a 2 year 1.5mill deal.

Doubt we see a trade as it makes 0 sense for either side as Ottawa probs gonna run Forsberg/Gustafsson

No the leafs aren't. Ottawa is gaining 200k per year for a sideways move.

If the trade were the other way around you would be crying for keafs to add a 1st. Which is exactly why I put this agm up. Just to straighten out the misguided sens and leafs fans. You seem to be neither and just want to hate on the leafs.

I agree. This is mostly in reply to the idiotic agm's I have seen. But I don't think the leafs have any interest in Murray either way. CJ mentions that he used to play for the soo maybe dubas might be interested and in turns into this.

Fun fact he and Campbell were the SOO's tandem back when Dubas was GM

Could see a reunion next season
