Description
Resign Kadri is a big win. He wants to win Cups. EJ wants to win cups and has a nasty broken leg the whole season ALA LV and TB. Selling Sammy and JT hurts but is necessary. Will find a buyer some where if it isn't the trades below. I don't really care what we get for them. If you disagree with the returns I get it. Doesn't stop the trades from happening. Signing a Big/Fast RW wing like Rakell, I love Shara, Grub, Hagg want to win cups and sign on. Can throw Keumper another mill but after that we are looking for a replacement. GoAVS!!!

Additional Details:
NJ Devils ranked in the bottom 3rd on PPGs. Sammy G is a potent PP QB. He also pairs with Graves really well. Size and Speed on a bottom 1st pairing or top 2nd pairing D is worth a Wing, a prospect(D preferred as the AVs are light on D Propects if no Shak then another) and a 4th to help the Avs refill the AHL.

kuemper doesn’t take that, and you’ve limited yourself for mack’s deal next year with these moves w no big money coming off if EJ’s just on LTIR and you’re spending to the cap

Would love that deal. I’d even up the pick to a 3rd to get it done. Think it’s fair value and works for both sides

Love the title, not necessarily the post tho. I like Sharangovich a lot but not trading G, he’s not gonna get moved. Just a lot of moves the Avalanche don’t need to do this off-season.

Would much rather do the OP trade, but it might be worth considering.

Kadri at $8M is just a bad choice, if they can convince him to do in $6.5M range that would be a sweet spot. Rackell and Hagg are very expensive pieces that can be filled by cheaper players. Some internal youth is going to fill spots in the bottom 6. And you really screwed them the following off season having $14M to sign MacK, Byram, Newhook and Sheg.

No way I'm paying Keumper more then 4.25Mil a year. He isn't that good. He wants length. Give him more years not more money. Sakic was right about Gruby. As for Mac. I'm giving him 12Mil over 8. No way I'm paying him 13 when McDavid doesn't get paid 13. Sorry Mac is Great but not 13 Mil great.

I disagree. Sammy G has to move. Byrum and Newhook need raises. Need replacements to Burky and JT. Need the money. Sammy is a great piece with limited time to move with all the contracts to move.

I disagree. Kadri is a 80 Pt guy. you pay that kind of money. MAC gets 12 mill(his 6.3 plus EJs). Byram get paid when I trade Manson. I could go shorter on Mansons deal. I'm not sold on Newy. If he wants the money he has to show me something next year. Shary is great. I like Rackell and I disagree. He is going to get that money. It's just an opinion. It doens't have to be 100%.

with byram, newhook and mack all up next year and then toews the year after, i don’t see how you have the money to re-sign all of them with EJ’s cap hit not counting. even 12mil is hard in this scenario. and imo with teams like edmonton, maybe toronto, washington, jersey, etc. all on the hunt for a goalie kuemper’ll get more money and term from someone else

Kadri, who I love is 31yr old that had a career year, if you think he is replicating 80+ points good luck with that, just take a look at his linemates shooting percentage. Rackell probably gets paid in that range but meh he isn’t the guy from 17-18. I like Sharangovich a lot too. Newhook, is right there but they can’t expect him to produce the offensive numbers he should playing with guys like NAK.

My signing Kadri is more of a "I think he can do 50-70 points a year for 4 but it is going to cost you for that time. I dont' see the AVs resigning Teows. if he continues to play the way he does he is going out price the Avs. As for Newy I agree. Playing on line 3 definitely hurts his production. I don't think he is a center. Watching him play he just doesn't have the 200 foot game. I see him as a wing. As a wing it hurts his value. As for Salary cap. It is going to be a tough future. I see alot of trades in the Avs future and I'm wondering if the Avs don't sign Kadri and then trade him but you have to sign him first. 7-8mil is the price according to EV projection. I've learned enough to know they are usually a little low. All speculation and opinions here.

Generally agree except with Newhook not having a 200 ft game and not being a c. He got time on the pk this year as a rookie and was actually kinda impressed with his d play. I think we as fans don’t fully realize how difficult it is to play C and all the nuances that go with it, and how it takes almost all C’s a few years to figure it out. Hughes is a good example of this.
