As a fan of both teams here... you just gotta add more to that trade. Yes, NYR likely never uses Nils, but they can get considerably better offers for him elsewhere. That is absolutely not a 1 for 1 trade haha...

Why not?

Both are 2018 first round picks. Dellandrea is 13th overall, Lundkvist is 28th one.

Both of them are currently fringe NHL players stuck in their system.

Both have played pretty equal number of games in the league, between 20-30.

Dellandrea had a 50 point year in AHL, Lundkvist only 15.

I think they're fairly comparable. Or at the very least if DAL needs to add, it's not going to be a substantial one. Low draft pick or something like that.

Wow... a forward had more points than a defenseman in the AHL...? I definitely stand corrected... what a fantastic point...............

Yeah...the point is, Dellandrea performed admirably well. And fwiw, Zachary Jones scored 35 points.

Lundkvist spent the year between NHL and AHL but didn't have the same level of impact in neither compared to Dellandrea. Also Lundkvist is known as an offensively capable D-man. After all, he did break rookie D-men records in SHL before heading to NA.

I’d be extremely hesitant about trading for Alex Martinez until more information comes out about his recovery. He sustained a pretty nasty injury right next to his eye that kept him on the shelf the last half of the season.

Not sure what the update is today, but as recently as March there was concern that it was possibly career ending.
