Pretty good work! I think Marachement will cost more, and Strome really is going to get paid more than he’s worth.

You did type any team... but Simek would be of no interest to the Jets. They need RHD and he'd be a waste of a 7th defensemen spot which they could get for way cheaper than 2.5 mill.

thanks, I appreciate it!

I agree that it's possible that some teams might pay Marchment more but I think that many will be hesitant given he's only had one good season. I also think having his dad in the Sharks front office could help him come here (hopefully at a discount).

Definitely of the better AGMs I’ve seen in awhile. Would say Reimer is worth more like a single 2nd though. And I think Simek isn’t a positive value player anymore.

Only thing I think I’d do differently is not sign Manson. Term is fine but I’d rather not pay that much for his services.

Oh and yeah I agree Strome and maybe Marchment will get more $$

I think Reimer is worth a 2nd. Played a lot of games for a subpar team and is very affordable. I would be willing to trade him for just a 2nd but not for only a 3rd. if a 3rd was the best San Jose could get then I'd rather trade Hill.

I'm not really worried about the value we get for Simek but rather just getting him off the team. I'd be fine trading him for nothing.

I don't love Manson either but there aren't many right-shot defensemen available in free agency. I agree this could potentially be a bit of an overpayment but to solidify our defense to some extent and get some two-way/defensive defensemen I think it's worth it.

Reimer was never what fans wanted him to be, and he is 34 now. Frankly, there are better UFA options that would cost $2.25M or less and not cost the 3rd to acquire. SJ would be lucky to even get a 3rd from anyone. More realistically they would probably get a 5th, 6th or 7th, or a $2M-ish blah player like Hagelin from the Caps.

no way Reimer is only worth a 5th or worse

Reimer has never been great but he had a really solid season in San Jose and could help a team compete at a cheap price

Tell me a "better UFA option that would cost 2.25 or less"

I did and I didn't find anyone that would sign a deal with an AAV of 2.25 or less that is better than Reimer

Then you should keep him if he is so great.

we have three goalies though so we should get rid of one. I think Reimer is the best out of the three but Kakhonen and Hill are both a lot younger and good as well. Either Hill or Reimer will be traded most likely.
