Jake DeBrusk steps in front of a bus before he plays for Cassidy again in Vegas of all places

Islanders aren’t giving up a pick for Alec “Injury Prone” Martinez.

I think trades 2 and 3 are too optimistic and I would stay away from Debrusk. We already have two volume shooters who struggle to finish in Pacioretty and Marchessault. Puljujarvi has also struggled to finish although I wouldn’t call him a volume shooter.

Yeah, I can't see that last trade happening with Cassidy in Vegas now. JDB will probably be happy to stay in Boston going forward and would be absolutely miserable getting stuck in some Groundhog's Day scenario where he gets his trade request granted but finds himself still playing for the same coach that made him request a trade in the first place.

As far as the other trades - Isles think about this if they've struck out elsewhere. $5.25M is probably a little more than they want to commit to LD2 but if it's between this trade and re-signing Andy Greene, well sign me up.

Probably have to throw a pick in with Dadonov to move him but someone'll bite, he's a decent if slightly overpaid player. Just make sure the next team isn't on his list!!

I don't think either side does the Puljujarvi-Lehner deal. When you factor in the Ville Husso signing you have here, Vegas is actually paying slightly more for a starting goalie ($3.65M for Husso & $1.5M for retention) than they would for just keeping Lehner. I don't think Husso has enough of a track record to put him as the 1A in a tandem with Logan Thompson - and while Puljujarvi is a good player, I also can't see Edmonton shipping him and a 1st rounder out to get 3x$3.5M of Robin Lehner unless Mike Smith retires and *nothing* else is left on the UFA market.

That Boston trade is bad. Giving up our two best prospects for that? No thanks
