Hawks reject. Not going to just take on cap dumps without getting prospect or draft pick compensation back

{sigh} Yet another Jake-Muzzin-back-to-Los-Angeles fantasy. Have we reached the thousandth-time level yet? We're looking for a top-level young LD with term like Jakob Chychrun, Ivan Provorov or Mikhail Sergachev, not an expensive veteran who has a poor injury history, and we don't need stopgaps because there are several cheap UFAs that won't cost us anything to sign or pay. And no matter where he goes, I can't see him getting a second-round draft pick back.

Muzzin is a salary dump. Find a team that has lots of salary space. If he is go good for draft picks why is Toronto trading him?

-You actually have to send a valuable piece with Mrazek if you're dumping him, not an extra part making $2M like Justin Holl. Slide in a Nick Abruzzese here and Chicago thinks about it.

-That's a lot for Seattle to pay for a 27 year old pending UFA. I heard they are looking for veterans to supplement their roster, but I don't think they give up that much draft capital for a guy they'll have for a year.

-LA doesn't want Muzzin; Muzzin doesn't waive for LA when he's on a playoff contender playing 90 minutes from where he was born. You're just stuck with him.

With your UFA signings - Campbell & Manson want more term, but the AAVs are more or less fine. I don't think Holtby and Subban sign sub-$1M deals, though.
