I was just using other trades I had seen on here as a reference. Pointed out above the Myers trade was actually garbage...oops!

Do you think the Hawks are going to be able to get anything for Mitchell? It seems like they're ready to just cut ties with him.

I'm sure the Hawks would agree to something involved there! Possibly some retention on one of the players going back to DAL to help with some cap flexibility. Good idea!

I wasnt sure how much the hawks would really be able to get outta this. I guess I was swayed by flyers fans on their armchair GMs that had people paying to acquire JVR. What do you think compensation would be for a JVR cap unload?

Blackhawks decline. No need for compher, he will be a UFA after this next season and will walk for nothing. Hawks need to add to their prospect cupboard, not sell from it.
EDIT: i apologize if i misunderstood the trade when you said "any team". I was thinking you meant any of the blackhawks 2nd rounders

Hawks Offseason Prediction
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>The Devils aren’t actively shopping their #2 pick, nor are they actively shopping for a scoring winger. Debrincat-to-NJ is pure speculation and goes against everything our GM has said about his plans for the off-season.
There is very little news coming out these days since SCF is about to start. And GM’s aren’t going to leak stories now, that will come when playoffs are over. But writers and observers need stuff to talk about. They need clicks and eyeballs. So they make these kind of links. But trust me, it’s total speculation at this point.
Legit stories will start to roll out about 5 days before draft.</div></div>
That's a totally fair point! If I was a Devils fan I would be very excited for everything that is about to go down! The future is very bright in NJ with a lot of nice young bucks rounding into form!

1. Ignore the chatter online </div></div>
I think i’ll trust what the people who are plugged into the league are saying over your opinion. The only reason the Devils are in the conversation as the front runner is because of that pick. The blackhawks aren’t actively shopping debrincat. It is going to be another Hagel situation where an offer is gonna have to blow them away to trade him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Based on what? When was the last time a top-2 pick was traded for a player? This may be true if it were pick #22, but not for #2.</div></div>
If you look at all the chatter online, that’s what theyre saying. Look at the past #2 overall picks and how many of them turned out to be better than debrincat? Last time it happened was for seguin. the leafs traded 2nd overall, the following year’s 1st rounder, and a second round pick for Phil Kessel. Seems like kessel at the time is rather similar to debrincat currently. Kessel didn’t have a single 40 goal season to his resume while Cat has 2 + another shortened season where he was scoring at a 50 goal pace over 82 games. It’s going to take an overpay for the Hawks to sell off debrincat, he’s still an RFA and can still be a 30-40 goal scorer by the time the Hawks rebuild is complete.

I disagree, I think the 2OA is just a starting point, it isn’t enough for debrincat alone.

He's just a cap swap. Bear could actually turn out to be something good playing on a young team, and the CHI D pool is not that deep.</div></div>
Right now the blackhawks realistically have 4-5 D that are going to get time up in the NHL so having bear just eat up a spot taking it away from a younger developing player wouldnt be productive for the development process

Unsure if this would get the job done, or if a Wahlstrom kind of player would need to be added as well

the deal is interesting for sure. I think that the 1st rounder has to be taken with a grain of salt considering it will likely be a late rounder unless something drastically wrong happens in Carolina. I don't see this being as competitive as what the Kings or the Devils can offer.
The extra d men also just clog up the back end, instead of allowing some of the young guys the opportunity for some ice time up in the show

I know you said it could be any team, but Hawks would reject this. They would want to get assets in order to take on the Mrazek deal, not give assets. Holl just is another body that jams up the overflowed defense pipeline.

The Leafs are gonna have to give up picks or prospects to get rid of Mrazek. He already passed through waivers last season. They wont be able to get assets for him, even if it is just a 7th.

Hawks reject simply because of where they are in their rebuild. They have a jammed D prospect pipeline and Holl would be taking a spot from a prospect to get some ice time with the Hawks. Throw in the fact that it is costing a draft pick when they are trying to rebuild their farm and they sadly have to say no.

Hawks like this move and apologize for sacrificing Dobby to the tank! Hate to see Murphy go, but Davidson gets to trade into the 1st round and free up a spot on the back end to allow more ice time for the young D men in the system to play in the NHL
