If I'm Toronto I'd crap my pants and say yes immediately. Given that, this is a horrible trade for Arizona.

Negatory from LA.

1) Kaliyev isn't for sale
2) There's not enough value there regardless, even if he was.

Kaliyev isn’t for sale, and the Kings have better options than Muzzin who would need to waive

{sigh} Yet another Jake-Muzzin-back-to-Los-Angeles fantasy. Have we reached the thousandth-time level yet? We're looking for a top-level young LD with term like Jakob Chychrun, Ivan Provorov or Mikhail Sergachev, not an expensive veteran who has a poor injury history, and we don't need stopgaps because there are several cheap UFAs that won't cost us anything to sign or pay. And the idea that we would trade Kaliyev for him is absolutely insane, even with Niemela and the window dressing.

Both trades are horribly slanted in favor of the Maple Leafs.

Niemela and Hirvonen are both players that might make a push for an NHL spot, so that's probably a worse trade for Toronto than LA, and doesn't make sense fpr either team.

As much as King fans hat this Muzzin return, I could see that happening at some point, probably not this year though. That's assuming they don't acquire Chychrun this year in a trade that will likely include Kaliyev.

Byfield, Kaliyev and Clarke are absolutely untouchable youngsters -- unless and until they play themselves off the team.

Trading Liljegren and Niemela makes absolutely no sense for the Leafs future on the D, RHD on the right side are coveted around the league and Toronto has been after one for so long. Now they have the opportunity to develop two and they throw that away without acquiring even another one?

So trading Sandin would make more sense for Chychrun for the Leafs.

As for Arz why would they trade Crouse for nothing? They aren't even getting 4 A-grade pieces for Chychrun, plus they are adding a second? They are better off trading Chychrun to the Kings and Crouse in a separate trade to a team that will give multiple pieces for him

I think they are open to trading either Byfield or Kaliyev if they are getting a developed impact player, assuming they don't address their needs in Free Agency.

Im confused as to why the OP would suggest to acquire Kaliyev for line 4 duties while nuking the Leafs depth chart on the right side.
