With this, Anaheim moves on from Gibson while weaponizing their cap space and taking on a terrible contract. They do still get a great prospect in Harley, the Stars first this year, and a very serviceable player in Gurianov. The Stars get a actual starter to work with Oetter and make him better.

I heard that it was NOT true that the Gibson trade request was made after it came out. ( posted by nhltraderumour.me) for the reason that he doesn’t want to go i don’t think it will happen.

No chance the Ducks take a deal like Seguins, way too much term and money

Need to pay a team at least 3 firsts to take that deal alone, like honestly even if you take Gibson out completely the Ducks still probably decline

Dallas has zero need to do this. They give up a middle-6 winger, future top-4 LD, and a 1st Round Pick for a starting goaltender that they don't need. He comes in and is instantly the 1B/Backup to Oettinger. Dallas would be foolish to spend $10M+ on their goaltenders.
