Isles are rumoured to want more offence from the blueline, Oilers want better D play, it makes sense for both parties imo. they already have Pulock.

the guy put up 26 pts, slightly below average 3rd line play, sabres could use some depth

The isles are rumored to want a 2nd pair LHD to play with Dobson . Both pulock and Dobson are significantly better offensively than Barrie so I makes no sense to acquire him.

they don’t need RD. they’re not paying 4.5mil for a 3rd pair player. don’t tell me “barrie’s not a third pair player” because on this team he would be in that role. if barrie was a lefty, i’d consider it, but this swap makes no sense for the islanders.

Barrie had more points than pulock this year even when you round his games to 82 and do the calculations, barrie played 3rd pair for the last half of the year and put up better stats than the first half, replacing mayfield on pair 3 as the isles glide away from the trap

Thats the best top 9 forward group in the league, I also think this is really well done. Not sure if Buffalo would have a need for Foegle but otherwise everything else makes sense.

Barrie gets his points by playing a lot with Mcdavid and Draisaitl. Pulocks advanced metrics offensively are much better than Barrie’s. Barrie is one of the worst even a tenth defenseman in the NHL

Why would the isles pay 4.5 mill for a 3rd pair D?

Actual points are more important than expected points. Plus Barrie has a history of being a talented offensive weapon before Edmonton.

I'd be very happy with this as an Oilers fan, but I don't see Puljujarvi or Yamamato taking such low contracts, though I do see them take minor pay cuts.

Any defenseman can rack up points playing with Mcdavid and Draisaitl. Barrie is washed

The Sabres have enough guys that can put up 26 points, they need top end players not Edmontons cast offs

Give Duncan Keith PP1 time with Mcdavid and Draisaitl and he’d have more points than barrie

It’s embarassing that Barrie couldn’t put up more 5v5 points than 40 year old Duncan Keith
