Description
If I was a betting man - this is the roster I THINK they start the year with. The big ? is that 2nd/3rd line LW that would need to be in the 3.5mil range. Maybe a Frank Vatrano or Max Domi? Athanasiou? Erod?

The only other move I see is McGinn being dumped which would free up another 2mil - so there's a chance that LW could make up to 5.5mil. That could get them maybe Copp, Smith, Marchment? If there is a God, Nichushkin?

Who would you like to see in those two scenarios?

Are people complaining about trading him to DET? I find that it's one of the more acceptable recurring trades found on this site (and certainly better than the Petry to Detroit for Zadina and a 2nd lol)

I think the Sens should try and get him cause he is the same age as Zub and is a good shutdown LD that would really solidify that LD side and move Brannstrom over to the right side where he looked really good and could get more ice time.

I don't think they're complaining about the trade itself haha - just that it was showing up in like 90% of the Pens ACGMs there for a while. But the reason it was used so much is because it seems to be generally accepted by both sides as a fair trade.

Like this one. Good points in the description. Though the more I’ve thought about it the less I think McGinn or Zucker are moving.

I think if I had to choose between keeping one of Heinen, Kapanen, or ERod, Heinen's my choice. He probably has the lowest payout of the three of them, but is more of a sure bet as to how he's going to produce for a more managable cap hit than either of them. Obviously it would be excellent for us if we get 1st half ERod or if Kappy plays at a 60 point pace like in 2021, but those are higher risks for their rewards, when Pittsburgh has to succeed with nearly every move if they want to stay competative.

If that's the case, what do you think is fair value for Ottawa to give up? Marino is worth a lot more than a 3rd.

I get what you're saying.

I really don't think there is a choice between those three though. I think if we're talking realistic, Kapanen is way more likely to be resigned - which is why I have him as a set spot on the roster, and not an option for the You Choose. We traded a lot for him, Hextall has talked about him as if he is looking forward to what he does with the team in the future, and he is one season off putting up 30 points in 40 games as you mentioned. Even his down season this year was as good as Heinen's great season. And you can probably get them for similar salaries.

Now Heinen vs Erod - those can be options for the You Choose slot.
