Isles decline. They’re not trading Raty

I think the Islanders would heavily consider. Raty is a great prospect, though.

Brown is not fetching a 1st as a rental. Did Calle Jarnkrok fetch a 1st?

I know I extended Brown, but everyone came breathing down my throat when they insisted that contract extensions can't be worked out before a rental trade goes down

First off, Connor Brown is better than Jarnkrok, and 2nd off a player traded in the Offseason is totally different than a deadline rental. If Ottawa's already getting static from Brown's camp about testing the market there's absolutely no reason to wait around til the deadline. They start putting feelers out they come back with a dozen cap strapped teams who aren't finding a player as good as Brown for 3.6mil in free agency. If Ottawa says they'll retain that number probably goes to like 20 teams interested in him at 1.8mil.

How is Brown better than Jarnkrok? They're nearly identical players

Connor brown over the last three years in OTT is a 20, 50Pt pace guy. Jarnkrok is closer to 17 goals and a little over 40pts (can't be arsed to properly check the math lol).

Also Connor Brown has better individual impacts. Especially offensively, where Jarnkrok consistently is a drag on his team.

Jarnkrok consistently a drag on his team? I admit he didn't score as much for Calgary as I expected, but I don't see any evidence to justify that accusation regarding his time in Nashville or Seattle

I see. I mean, I wouldn't trust him to drive his own line, but he and C. Brown are like the ultimate utility players in this league

I posted yesterday how some Vancouver AGMs were trading Myers (-2M) for a 3rd, and Myers for a 4th, etc. It's time for the few (busy) Vancouver AGMers that massively over value their players to catch up with the rest of us and stop trying to trade $10 in value for $15.

You've (royal you) have been posting grossly Vancouver-sided trades for so long you are believing it is true.

For sure. This season not withstanding, Jarnkrok is consistently great defensive forward. Connor Brown just has a significant edge in production and he's much stop at actually driving offensive results, and in terms of a trade I think teams absolutely play more for that difference.

No I haven't, it's been more naive Canucks fans that are overvaluing their own players, I'm not one of them

Okay, I'll say that I'd only pay a 1st for Brown if I'm a contender and he's the piece that puts my team over the top, or I'm a team on the rise and I'm very confident in being able to extend him

That's why I specifically put in the "royal you" comment to distinguish from "you" you.
