He's a 29-year-old bottom-6 forward with a $3.4 million cap hit for 3 more seasons. That's not what a rebuilding team is looking for, particularly one that's trying to bring youngsters in -- he would just take up a roster space for us.

If I would bet on a Petry trade, that would be it.

Might get more or less, from Dallas or elsewhere, but it makes sense IMO.
