I've seen Sens fans put the feelers out on a Brown/Weegar trade on twitter, but nobody really has a good explanation for why it makes even slight sense for Florida. Even in a scenario where Weegar tells them he's only going to sign in Ottawa next year, Florida still doesn't have to trade him here. He's got no trade protection, so Florida would trade him where they get the most for him

Wild fans in general agree with Fiala for 7th OA + Jarventie/Thomson

It depends how you see Brannstrom + Sokolov + 3rd vs Jarventie/Thomson but feels like overpayment

Yeah and they have incredible depth at forward. They also have Barkov, Huberdeau and Lundell for the PK. They don't need Brown, they need Weegar

And it would cost more than a 3rd to make the swap. Connor Brown is an excellent 2-way forward, often underrated but Weegar has been a top-30 NHL D-man for 2 years
