Laughton
That's the issue with dealing with the flyers right now. that's the most I'd pay and I don't think that gets it done. even then I'm not thrilled about the player

This only works if the contract talks with Terry also break down. and It's probably going to be in the 7 mil range

fair for both imo
I know it's easy to poke holes in this based on last year's numbers but at the end of the day. Carolina ran out of steam in the playoffs. they could really use a goal scorer like Debrincat. necas would really keep things moving with someone like Norris.
sincerely a biased Sens fan

here's the thing about Saros, it would only happen if the sens blow them out of the water or they declare a rebuild, and if they declare a rebuild they won't want cat. I'd rather target one of their young forwards but that would still be tough.

fair points all around TT would definetly require more from the huricanes, necas as well but that value would be very dependant on possible extentions in place

they signed him to an extemsion in the fall, they would have to blow them away to concider trading him

Is this fair
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Claesson4Norris</b></div><div>We can debate fairness on value here, but trading for DeBrincat would be entirely pointless. They'd have little hope of convincing him to stay, and if the plan is to just flip him out for futures, they probably do better just moving Keller outright</div></div>
I agree if the sens go after him it would be with other assests. I'm biased here but I think the sens next ownership group would be more likely to convince him to stay than arizona's. hed be trading one uncertain situation for an even more uncertain one. also the value of any of there players would crash if a move and a trade request happened so who knows what the value is

Which free agents to sign
I kinda expected barbashev to top out at 3-4 mil but he still has 1 or 2 more rounds to prove me wrong. I also don't expect anyone to give him 7 years.
I could see barbashev seeing this as a good situation to bet on himself on a 1 or 2 year deal if cat is gone.

could next season be playoff season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tchuckycheese</b></div><div>Meh, why would it be? Same roster as this year and we didn't make the playoffs.
So tired of watching that bottom 6 do absolutely nothing, especially Joseph and Kastelic. Need better linemates for Pinto. Greig was really only successful when he was playing with better players, which is understandable.
Don't even get me started on the goaltending.</div></div>
A healthy norris would be huge.
young guys continuing to grow.
there's definetly room to play around in the middle 6 to get greig in a good situation and insulating Pinto would be big as well.
Ultimatly there has to be a system change to play better infront of the goalies. + mads growing into a full timer
Taking another step forward is quite reasonable

Greig and Pinto
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>swinny</b></div><div>I am one that questions Ottawa's want ot need to deal for Chychurn.
I am not about to say the Sens don't need an upgrade on the 2nd pairing - they do. But, with Sanderson making the team this year (he should anyway), and Bernard-Docker and Thomson is the system on the right side still with a side of Aspirot; find a better stop gap than Hamonic would be a far better move.
In 2023-24, the blueline will be young and talented:
Chabot-Zub
Sanderson-Branström
Holden-Bernard-Docker/Thomson
Zaitsev
I am one to see if Branström continues his development (he looked solid down the strech) as he just maybe that 2nd pairing guy..... and for me, Thomson longer term is likely that guy.
Chychurn is a very good D, but the Sens are simply too loaded for that move to make much sense right now. If they were a Stanley Cup contender, that changes the conversation. They are not. They are a team that possibly challenges for a wildcard. Let the kids play to see if Chychurn is actually needed.</div></div>
the thing is they want a another defencement to legitimatly challenge for a wildcard spot not to mention inulating there young defencemen and not rush them

my logic was jp seems like the odd man out with yammamoto and if you can fllip him for a legit 3rd line scorer that can play on the PK that seems like a good deal and if the sens can get some upside and turn into a legit top 6 guy it seems like a good deal for both side
