Realistic Off Season

Created by: Habs_fan31
Team: 2022-23 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 22, 2022

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I know I'm over the roster limit but just wanted to show who I think the habs will bring back and where they fit into the mix.

Like it or not but the habs won't move petry unless they get what they want. If they don't then they can make another cap dump and be under the cap. Montreal doesn't have to trade Anderson or Petry if the right offer doesn't come by.

Remember that this is my opinion

future considerations, This trade can happen with any team that will take hoffman. I don't think the habs will trade anything more than a 3rd to move hoffman.

    Additional Details:
Montreal will likely want a top prospect on the team or the 1st round pick. I'm not going to worry about salary retention but I can also see the habs adding a mid round pick if needed.

I really like Pezz, brings a lot of energy to the lineup and the team seems to like him. I think it is important to understand what he can be for the habs before moving on from him. Give him this off season then next year to allow him to prove he can play a bottom 6 role. We aren't contending next year so I think we should see what he can do.

IMO you need to make a couple of changes.

    1. Swap Dadanov with Anderson, I think MSL will want 2 shooters on the top line and Drouin-Anderson has always worked when Drouin was healthy.
2, Swap Armia with Pezzetta, Pezz is a great energy guy but Armia is a beast in possession.
    3. Wideman in Barron to AHL to start the year.
    4. Everything else is good though, even the contracts.

He can't play hockey, yes he brings energy and he is finishing his hits, but he isnt playing over Byron Armia Poehling. The coaches never scratched Armia and Byron plays when healthy

I say keep JAnderson on first line, but I agree with scratching Pezzetta. If they can't move Armia, def don't want 3.4m on the bench to a 900k guy who's only plus is that he works hard.

I like Harvey Pinard to do that but better

Must be a decent Arm chair GM if the only thing people are pointing out are the line combinations. Thanks for your input everyone!
