The Senators probably value Pinto more than the 7th overall pick. They have zero reason to trade him. They are expected to move Colin White. They came very close to trading him at the deadline to Montreal. Pinto is expected to be the third line center. He isn't an 18 year old CHLer, he's going to be 22 years old when the season begins. To put things in perspective, he is older than Kakko. The only reason he isn't a bigger name young player outside of the Senators is that he missed the entire season.
There is a reason the Senators made the 7th overall available, and not their top prospects like Pinto or Greig. They value players ready to make the jump now, because they need to win now to satisfy their stakeholders like their top players, their fans, their ownership group, etc. The only players the Senators would likely move Pinto or Greig for would be in a deal for Kakko or Lafreniere. I doubt Lafreniere is available, and I am obviously not suggesting Pinto 1 for 1 gets Lafreniere. They aren't moving Pinto for a quantity type deal. That makes no sense.
