      They can only lose 1 player in expansion, Smith is gonna cost more along the lines of 4 years 21 Million. Fast & Lindberg would also be more expensive. Losing 1 of them to Vegas is more likely (maybe Raantaa) No way the Devils send Kovalchuck to the Rangers. If Radulov got 5.75 MIL, Kovy's gonna want more, .6.5, maybe? I don't see the value in Shattenkirk for those dollars, Need to find a way to get rid of Staal & Girardi without buying them out. Take a beating on the trade returns & retain some salary.

      More endless Staal trades. Does he really waive his NMC? I don't think NJD would want Stepan and his 6.5m. They could spend money elsewhere if they wanted.

      As a Devils fan, if we're offered Stepan, a still young, too 6 center, for Kovalchuk, a 34 year old aging winger, I'm running to the phone to make the official trade call.
