They already have 14 picks. You are giving them 17 2022 picks. That isn't tangible. They cant sign 17 players. Josh needs to be traded for an actual player, they cant take more magic beans.

The Islanders never do this, lol. Anderson's contract is terrible and they don't have the luxury of taking on another $5mil 40 point guy. They have like 4 of those.

It's not close to terrible. Anderson had 19 goals in 69 games, he's already a 20 goal player, he would of probably gotten 25, in a full season on the top line with good linemates he gets 30. All this with no PP time. All 5on5 scoring which is an asset. Then you add his physical aspect which is in demand for the playoffs. 5.5 million is a good contract, the only ppl that say its a bad deal is a few misinformed ppl here

He has scored 20 goals once in his career. That's not my definition of "20 goal player". Seasons that you think he would have gotten 20 goals do not count. He's too slow to play with Barzal, and the Isles 2nd line doesnt need another power forward with it projecting to have both Lee and Nelson. Isles won't be trading for him, and nobody with half a brain is going to be giving up a 1st for him.

lol he literally played with Barzal in the world championships recently and why this hot rumour, probably, took place. Josh? slow??! ok you have no clue what you are talking about. No creativity sure, but he's fast, he has pace. He's a goal scorer not a setup man.

A 3rd line caliber goalscorer, sure. If he's in your top 6, your team's in trouble.

By the way, you know he didn't score at all with Barzal, right? and only had 1 goal in the tournament? They did not work together.

https://nyihockeynow.com/new-york-islanders-nhl-draft-13th-pick-josh-anderson-mat-barzal-lou-lamoriello/

“Josh Anderson is a north-south forward who can get the puck out onto the ice quickly. He has a wicked wrist shot and a nose for the net; causing all kinds of chaos in front of the net. He needs to play with a fast and creative center to maximize his abilities. With a Mat Barzal, he could score 25-30 goals if he were healthy by providing a strong and physical game. “

For those who watched the most recent IIHF Men’s World Championships, you know that Mat Barzal and Josh Anderson have been line mates for a handful of games, alongside young Columbus Blue Jackets star Cole Sillinger.
