Instead of retention flip Quick and sign a 1B or trade for one. Less assets out the door.

I wonder if Sandin could be made available out of TOR-- could be a good, cheaper pick up for LAK

That gets it done. Chychrun at $2.3m is laughably valuable due to cost certainty, just like Hagel. 2 1sts, 2 prospects, you’re meeting it in this deal

Yeah well obviously you're not getting Chychrun at $2.3m x 3 yrs as Bill Armstrong isn't retaining 50% on what's already a reasonable contract.

Except Quick is our starter. Petersen sucked last year

I wouldn't mind going after Sandin or Smith as a backup option. I don't know what TOR would want in exchange for Sandin. Roy would not be an option like most Leafs fans wish.

Gotta rip the bandaid off. Maybe target Husso at 3.5m? I just don’t think it’s likely you get that retention or if you did it would be REALLY expensive asset wise

I could see them having interest in some of the cheap, young forward depth that LAK has-- maybe a deal around Kaliyev? <$1m and signed for two more seasons.

They can and would to get the return they desire, which is a haul. Retained $6m total on oel, they’re not going to scoff at $900k more for chychrun.

I'm sure a team like Buffalo will offer Husso around 5M. Can't see him availble for 3.5M

Kings won't trade Kaliyev. I could see Spence or Iafallo maybe
