Why the value between the Canes trade is fair, Fast is not someone on the Market for us.

Can't see the Sabres wanting foegele. Our gm has said he isn't interested in bringing in vets if they will just block our kids that are ready to play. Plus once we hit the floor I don't expect they are gonna be looking to add salary. It's just not gonna happen here.

So they are going to over pay for deangelo then? Barrie can slot into that role perfectly imo and will be cheaper than what deangelo will want.
JP is 6 years younger than fast and produced at a similar rate. And he’ll only get better where fast is a career 30 point guy.

and PJ couldn’t even put up 40 points beside McDavid and Draisaitl. TDA likely gets between 4-5mil, how that is overpaying I don’t know. Better player for about the same price as Barrie, yeah I think the Canes just try resigning TDA instead. As for Fast, it was never about his offensive production. He is a glue guy who is elite defensively. Absolutely no reason for the Canes to trade him. And if you don’t know why he is a glue guy, look at all the team awards he won with the Rangers and now the Canes.
