Why not just give Engvall less than 2 million and not sign Sanford

Because Engvall is softer than a bag of milk and this team needs players that are willing to get their noses dirty.

Kerfoot has a M-NTC that kicks in today, maybe NJ is on that list, maybe not.. and why wouldn't NJ want a versatile winger that put up 50pts last season and is also good on the PK? Also only 750k in real money to be paid after the Leafs pay his signing bonus today...

Three trades others teams shouldn't do. The usual totally impractical 20 man roster.

He plays a foot shorter than he is and couldn't physically dominate an old-timer's league. Leafs have the softest role players in the league. Kerfoot, Engvall, Blackwell, Kase, Mikheyev, Holl, Brodie and Muzzin. Not one of these players stick up for the stars on the leafs. Even Simmonds didn't do his job all season. When your stars don't think the team has their back it does way on their shoulders.

I don't hate Engvall at all, I actually like the player... but the team needs better balance and some guys that will go to war when needed throughout the lineup instead of just 1-2 guys on the 4th line.
