Created by: BarDownBolt
Team: 2022-23 Tampa Bay Lightning
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 1, 2022

Description
Killorn traded for a middle six fwd in Foegele, and the Oilers get some playoff leadership.
McDonagh traded to Min for Dumba as Minnesota cant afford him and we will need the cap space next offseason to sign other players.
would be tough to get the boys to waiver the NMC but i think both teams they are being traded to are playoff contenders.

We don't want Ryan. Minnesota isn't taking on another team long term contract and older player. Not happening. Can Tampa bay fans stop being leafs fans?

Minnesota says no. They don't have the cap space for that. Also doubt Leddy signs for that little

This would be a useful trade for the Oil to get a cheaper replacement for Kane if nothing can be worked out there at a decent price, and obviously help Tampa with cap while still giving them a 3rd liner.

I don't see this as a bad trade you get a first round pick and a guy who can play a solid 200 foot game at a cheaper price then what Dumba will want next year as a FA.

yeah the Leddy deal is a stretch but a decent shot at the cup/very tradeable contract for a true contender if it comes to it, and I think having a veteran LD with Foote would really help his development.

Almost $19.5M of cap space going to two buyouts and 33 year old McDonagh if Minnesota did this, Yikes!

Really need to dump the kiss of death!

Sign some younger legs to league minimum deals for 3rd/4th line work.

I would say MIN declines and likely so does McDonagh from his NTC. MIN would probably prefer to re-sign Dumba or would trade him at the deadline for a better deal than this if they can't find the cap space.

I could see EDM interested in that deal if Killorn didn't have a 16-team NTC, but he does have the M-NTC so they would have to play him and likely not have cap room to sign Yamamoto or Puljujarvi.

I could see NJD being interested in Killorn and a pick for Miles Wood or something similar, but i don't know if NJD would be on Killorn's trade list.

Long story short, someone better ask both players if they are willing to consent to a trade. I don't think it would be a stretch to say both want to stay on team that won 2 (almost 3) cups in 3 years.

What part of Minnesota can't afford Ryan McDonagh isn't getting through? Why do you think they traded Kevin Fiala because they couldn't afford him. They don't have nearly $7,000,000 x 4 years to pay him.

Nick Leddy laugh at that offer, try more like $4,500,000 x 4 years to sign Leddy.

It's a bad trade. JT because a player is from Minnesota doesn't mean we want hi. Dude Minnesota isn't sacrificing their future to take on any long term contract and when Minnesota has their own issues & d isn't one of them
